Former Bayern Munich boss Nagelsmann reacts to snubbing Chelsea

Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann has reacted to pulling out from the managerial role at Chelsea.

Nagelsmann was one of the favorites to land the vacant managerial role at Stamford Bridge following the sack of Graham Potter.

However, earlier on Friday as reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria, the German tactician shockingly withdrew from the race for the job.

Until his decision to withdraw from the race, the 36-year-old was considered as the favorite for the job alongside former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique.

Following his shocking decision, the former Bayern and Hoffenheim boss has finally broken his silence.

Speaking to Sky Germany, Nagelsmann gave an interesting reply after he was asked about his earlier decision.

“To cancel something, you have to commit to something," Nagelsmann said, per Sky Germany via Fotmob.

Julian Nagelsmann reportedly ruled himself out of the running for the Chelsea job after talks with the Blues appeared to cool in recent days.

The German manager had been the leading candidate for the job after Graham Potter was sacked.

There were reports that the Englishman's dismissal was fast-tracked when Nagelsmann became available after leaving Bayern Munich.

Both Enrique and Nagelsmann were viewed as the early favourites for the role, but with neither under consideration at this point, Chelsea's attention has to turn elsewhere.

Burnley's Vincent Kompany is of interest but Chelsea are known to be huge fans of Mauricio Pochettino, who was first contacted after Thomas Tuchel left Stamford Bridge earlier this season and was spoken to yet again midway through the campaign.
