In a recent statement, Francis Ngannou expressed his opinion that he is not actively chasing the possibility of a bout with Jake Paul.
Following his unanimous decision victory against former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson, The Problem Child has been called out by a number of current top-tier fighters.
If they were interested, booking wouldn't be a problem because both competitors are in contact with the PFL.
The former UFC heavyweight champion praised Tyson, who trained him for his boxing debut against Tyson Fury, during a brief back-and-forth interaction on social media after his victory with 'The Predator'.
The conversation gave many MMA fans the impression that the two were possibly laying the groundwork for a future fight, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
The current PFL heavyweight Super Fights champion talked about his interaction with the YouTuber-turned-boxer in an interview with TMZ Sports.
"No, no, no, c'mon don't be silly...Maybe if we put the two Paul brothers in the cage and then maybe there is something to do there.
"Come on, like, respect me a little bit...Yeah, [I respect Paul]...remember we are doing entertainment and they were on Netflix and when you subscribe [to]
"And if this is not entertainment, I don't know what you are looking for."
Given that the PFL has the power to schedule a bout between Francis Ngannou and Jake Paul, their social media exchange captured the interest of the MMA community.
After 'The Problem Child' defeated Mike Tyson, the current PFL heavyweight Super Fights champion showered Tyson with plaudits and warned Paul about what he should do the next time he sees him on the field.
