Gamr X delivers premium fun to over 2000 African gamers in Lagos

The 2023 Gamr X conference was a beehive of activities as eSports lovers around Africa gathered in Lagos.

It was an event that was bigger and better with no fewer than 2000 gaming enthusiasts present at the Eko Conference Centre on Saturday.

Big names attend Gamr X

While some of the biggest names in the eSport space were in attendance to compete in the highly contested competitions, celebrities and sports administrators were not left out. 

Music sensation Victony was in attendance and thrilled fans at the event. Lagos State Sports Commission boss, Sola Aiyepeku and Obi Asika, the co-founder of social media week Lagos, were also a part of the gaming fiesta.

The Oni of Ife also graced the event, stealing the show when he walked through the Gamr X mixed zone with his entourage to add royalty to the bubbling event.

Meanwhile, Pulse Sports Nigeria spoke to some enthusiasts in the building who had nothing but glowing tributes to pay.

Speaking on the event, Asika noted that “what is going on in this community is massive.”

In his remark, the chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Aiyepeku, provided more information on the role the Lagos State government played. 

“What we did was to ensure that the environment was good enough for people to express themselves,” Aiyepeku stated.

For the Chief Operating Officer of Gamr, Kunmi Adenipebi, the preparation for the 2023 Gamr X was a ‘hectic’ one that ‘deprived them of sleep for a couple of days’ as they just wanted to give the thousands who attended a fun experience.

Safe to say that Adenipebi and his team delivered and outdid themselves.
