Guinea-Bissau vs Nigeria: Lookman and Chukwueze out, Simon and Musa in
Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro is expected to make a few changes to the side that suffered a defeat against Guinea-Bissau on Friday.
Nigeria suffered an embarrassing 1-0 loss at home to the Wild Dogs in the first of their doubleheader clash against the home opponent.
Mama Samba Balde’s fine finish in the first half was enough to hand Guinea-Bissau a shock victory at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.
The good news for Nigeria, however, is that they have a chance to take revenge, as they take on the same opponent in the reverse fixture on March 27 at Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro.
With Nigeria seeking revenge, Peseiro will make changes to the side that suffered defeat in the first leg.
Although he is not expected to make wholesale changes, Peseiro has some big decisions to make on Monday.
Guinea-Bissau vs Nigeria: Uzoho to stay in goal as Peseiro makes changes
Francis Uzoho was blamed in some quarters for the goal, but he is likely to keep his place between the sticks as there is no competition.
Calvin Bassey should keep his place at the back, but Kevin Akpoguma could miss out after he was taken off with a head injury in the first leg.
Should Akpoguma fail to recover from the injury, Semi Ajayi should come in to replace the Hoffenheim centre-back.
Bright Osayi-Samuel was the only positive for Nigeria, so he should stay at right-back. Zaidu Sanusi should also keep his position on the left.
Peseiro played a two-man midfield on Friday, and which should stay the same, with Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi.
