Super Eagles of Nigeria recorded a 1-0 victory against Guinea-Bissau after they were stunned at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja last Friday in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.
The Super Eagles looked dangerous as expected coming into the match on Monday evening, with Jose Peseiro making some changes to the team that started in the defeat last week.
And Peseiro’s changes eventually paid off as Nigeria found themselves 1-0 up at half-time.
Bright Osayi was brought down in the box in the 29th minute, before Nantes winger Moses Simon stepped to fire home for the visitors a minute later.
Simon’s penalty proved to be the difference on the evening despite the numerous chances created by the Super Eagles, as it finished in favour of the three-time African Champions
