Henry, Salah…Jarrod Bowen: West Ham star equals the greats with Premier League record
West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen has made an incredible start to the 2023/24 Premier League campaign, equalling a record held by Premier League legends Thierry Henry and Mohamed Salah.
Bowen enjoys superb start to Premier League season
Bowen, who scored the winner when West Ham became champions of the UEFA Europa Conference League, has enjoyed a superb personal year, earning a debut with the England national team in the process.
The Hammers forward has enjoyed a fine start to the Premier League season, even though West Ham themselves have not been superb.
On Sunday, Bowen scored the consolation goal as West Ham fell to their third defeat of the season against Aston Villa.
Bowen equals Henry and Salah
The goal against Aston Villa was Bowen’s fifth scoring appearance in an away game this season, as the England international has now scored a goal in each of West Ham’s opening away games.
Bowen has now become the first player in the Premier League since Salah in the 2021/22 season to score in their opening five away games in the competition, with the only other player besides the pair to have done so being Arsenal’s Thierry Henry in the 2001/02 campaign.

Although West Ham ended up on the losing side, Bowen will be happy to continue his streak and could become the first player to score in their opening six away games when they play against Brentford.
