Historic return: Nine-time NBA all-star Damian Lillard returns to Trail Blazers

After two seasons in Milwaukee and a serious Achilles injury likely to sideline him for most of the upcoming season, Lillard is returning to the city he calls home.

The Bucks will stretch the remainder of Lillard's contract over five years to create salary cap space and sign Myles Turner to a four-year, $107 million deal (with a player option for the 2028-29 season).

In a move laden with symbolism, Damian Lillard is returning to the Portland Trail Blazers, the team that drafted him.

The 35-year-old, nine-time All-Star guard has signed a three-year contract worth $42 million, according to Shams Charania, via Sportal.

The agreement includes a no-trade clause. Lillard played for the Blazers from 2012 to 2023 before joining the Milwaukee Bucks.
