How the vice-captaincy role bolsters Denis Otim at URA FC
URA FC, four-time champions of the Uganda Premier League, announced new team leadership through their social media channels on Wednesday.
Enock Walusimbi has taken the helm as the new club captain, with goalkeeper Denis Otim stepping up as vice-captain. Meanwhile, seasoned midfielder Saidi Kyeyune has been chosen as the third-choice captain.
For Otim, this vice-captaincy is more than just a title—it's a major boost to his motivation and drive.
He expressed his gratitude: “I deeply appreciate the club administration, the technical team, and my teammates for entrusting me with this role.”

“Being the vice-captain is an honour, and it only fuels my desire to excel even further,” Otim told Pulse Sports.
Having transitioned to the tax collectors from the renowned Express FC just this past July, Otim's leadership experience is not newfound.
In fact, he had previously served as vice-captain at Express FC, succeeding Enock Walusimbi who had departed for Scotland's second-tier team, Peterhead FC.
Otim's prowess on the field is evident. Under the management of Fred Muhumuza, the former Uganda Hippos goalkeeper has already secured two clean sheets and earned a 'man of the match' accolade in the league.

Similarly, team captain Enock Walusimbi brings a wealth of leadership experience, having previously guided Express FC to both the 2021 league championship and the CECAFA Kagame Cup in the same year.
Currently, URA FC maintains an unbeaten league streak, tallying one victory and two draws in their recent matches.
After the international break, URA will host Wakiso Giants in a much-anticipated matchup.
