I can't accept it - Arsenal legend Ian Wright refuses Eni Aluko's apology following accusation
The former star for England's women's team recently directed comments towards Ian Wright regarding his role as a pundit covering women's football.
Aluko emphasised the need to ensure female pundits have equal opportunities, implying that the number of such roles is limited and that male pundits should be mindful of this.
Many were surprised by her comment, which quickly went viral on social media and was noticed by the Arsenal legend.
Ian Wright responds to Aluko
Aluko expressed remorse to Wright for her remarks, acknowledging the error in singling him out when discussing a wider issue concerning women's football.
However, the former Arsenal star said in a video on Instagram, as reported by the Sun, that he has not accepted her apology.
"I'm very disappointed by what Eni has said. She knows how I have helped her and supported her publicly, and I know the previous conversations she's had with me and my management.
"I've seen the apology on social media, but I can't accept it, but I also want to move on from it. I don't need any further social commentary directed at anyone.”
