'I was not happy' - Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca reacts after big win against Wolves
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has publicly criticised winger Mykhailo Mudryk's performance, saying he is unhappy with the Ukrainian.
Man of the Match Noni Madueke scored his first hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers to give Chelsea the first Premier League victory of the season (6-2) at Molineux.
After substituting Mudryk at halftime, Maresca explained that he was not satisfied with the player's performance on the ball. Despite acknowledging Mudryk's hard work off the ball, Maresca believes the winger needs to improve his quality and decision-making.
This criticism follows Maresca's previous comments about Mudryk's "a lot of mistakes" in a midweek match against Servette.
“I was not happy. In some moments we can manage situations better.
“He was working hard off the ball but on the ball, I expect a bit more quality from Misha. He had some good moments today but the reason why was to change it and give Pedro some minutes,” the manager explained.
It seems unlikely that Mudryk will start for Chelsea in the Premier League anytime soon unless his form significantly improves.
The Blues return to Premier League action next Sunday when they host Crystal Palace at home.
