'I won't ask Donnarumma to do anything he's uncomfortable with' - Guardiola reveals plan for new goalkeeper
Donnarumma moved from PSG to Man City this summer after failing to renew his contract with the French giants.
The goalkeeper was signed for a fee worth £26 million from Paris Saint-Germain following Ederson's move to Fenerbahce.
Guardiola speaks on Donnarumma
The Italian goalkeeper, who arrived from Paris Saint-Germain, is not renowned for his footwork. In Italy's last match, he struggled significantly with crosses from corner kicks.
“I always try to adapt to the quality of the players. I won't ask Gigi to do anything he's uncomfortable with. Ederson is, in my opinion, the best goalkeeper I've ever seen in terms of distribution, both short and long passes.
"We didn't sign Gigi to do the same as Ederson. He possesses different qualities,” Guardiola commented, as reported by Sportal.
“The market presented us with the opportunity to sign Gigi. He's 26 years old with incredible experience at a major club and with the Italian national team. He's so tall, he's massive. Goalkeepers save shots, but they also bring character to the team.
"He's demonstrated that in the biggest matches. I met with him on Wednesday, and we had a good chat. It was raining on Thursday, I was in my office and didn't see him,” he added.
