Nigeria's U-18 girls began their IHF Trophy Women Africa Zone 3 phase in Ghana on Tuesday with an emphatic 61-16 victory over Liberia on day one of the championship.

Change of fixture for Nigeria

Nigeria was to play the Niger Republic in the first match of the under-18 categories earlier on Tuesday.

The girls were paired to play against Liberia after Niger Republic pulled out of the competition and the organisers decided the path of round robin as against groupings.

It was an emphatic win for the girls vs Liberia.

And thus Coach Shittu Agboola Adewunmi's tutored side faced their opponent at the Tennis Arena of the Accra Sports Stadium.
