Nigeria's U-18 girls began their IHF Trophy Women Africa Zone 3 phase in Ghana on Tuesday with an emphatic 61-16 victory over Liberia on day one of the championship.
Change of fixture for Nigeria
Nigeria was to play the Niger Republic in the first match of the under-18 categories earlier on Tuesday.
The girls were paired to play against Liberia after Niger Republic pulled out of the competition and the organisers decided the path of round robin as against groupings.
And thus Coach Shittu Agboola Adewunmi's tutored side faced their opponent at the Tennis Arena of the Accra Sports Stadium.
The match
Nigeria wasted no time in making their intentions known early on in the game.
The girls became business-like as they did their Business brusquely, destroying Liberia with a 61-16 victory.
Nigeria's Babatunde Taiwo was voted MVP of the match for her superlative performance which was the focal point of Nigeria's victory.
