Making their first appearance at the tournament in 14 years, Uganda became only the third African nation to claim the women’s crown, following Kenya and South Africa.

Uganda's journey was as inspiring as it was dominant, as they topped Group B with 14 points before overcoming India in the quarterfinals and Romania in the semifinals. The final, however, was their crowning glory.

“This is a historic moment, not just for Uganda, but for Africa and the Homeless World Cup,” Infantino said.
