Injury boost for Milan as Swiss-born Nigerian Noah Okafor nears return
There is an update on the injury situation of Swiss-born Noah Okafor and his teammate Yunus Musah at AC Milan.
With Samuel Chukwueze and Ismael Bennacer set to depart for AFCON, Milan has received a little boost for Okafor and Musah.
Okafor set for Milan's return
Following the expected departure of compatriot Chukwueze, who will be on international duty with Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, anticipation for Okafor’s return has heightened at Milan.
According to a Sempremilan report, both players are nearing a return to first-team training and action as Milan look to cover for the spaces left by Samu and Bennacer.
Both Musah and Okafor have been missing in action since the comprehensive win against Monza in the Serie A at San Siro in December.
While the American star, Musah, last featured for Milan in the 2-1 win against Newcastle United in the Champions League, Okafor’s last game for the Rossoneri was the 3-0 thrashing of Monza.
The 23-year-old came off the bench to wrap up proceedings at San Siro with the third goal and also his third of the season in the Serie A.
However, he has been out of action since that game with an injury but is back on the pitch training but alone per the report.
Okafor could be back as early as next weekend while Musah seems set to make it to the bench when Milan take on Empoli this weekend.
