It doesn't sound good - Nick Kyrgios reveals locker room conversation with Djokovic
The last Grand Slam tournament Novak Djokovic won was the 2023 US Open, followed by Olympic gold in Paris 2024.
Since then, he's reached three Grand Slam semifinals and is struggling more and more against rivals like Sinner and Alcaraz due to both age and increasingly frequent injuries.
What Kyrgios said, Djokovic told him
Kyrgios was a guest on the "All on The Table" podcast hosted by renowned coach Patrick Mouratoglou, via Sportal, where he mentioned Novak Djokovic and a conversation that, in retrospect, sounds concerning.
I asked him: 'Why are you still playing?' He just said: 'I don't know.' I was like: 'Wait, what about family, kids?' He repeated: 'I don't know...'
The Australian noted that it was the first time he'd seen Djokovic vulnerable when it came to tennis, and that he seemed to lack motivation.
"I think he really misses his family. I don't see him playing for another year, especially if he's no longer winning Grand Slams."
Mouratoglou replied: "It's hard to find motivation when you've already won everything. He's the greatest of all time."
