It is a learning process - Obi
Despite the setbacks, Coach Obi remains optimistic. He said:
"It's a learning curve," he acknowledged. "This is our first time in the Super Six, but that doesn't mean a newcomer can't win."
He emphasized that their focus is on continuous improvement and finishing the remaining matches on a strong note.
Coach Obi acknowledged his team's missed chances but avoided trading blame. "Football isn't about simple calculations," he explained.
"We had our strategy, but we couldn't convert the opportunities." He commended his players' effort, especially after pulling one back.
Dismissing notions of inexperience, Coach Obi emphasized that participation in the Super Six is a commendable achievement regardless of not playing at this stage before.
"Today just wasn't our day. Edo Queens are a strong side, and they deserved the win," he confirmed to Pulse Sports.
Fresh legs were introduced to boost the squad
The changes to the starting lineup stemmed from a desire for tactical flexibility and rejuvenation.
"I brought the whole team to play," explained Coach Obi. "The bench players are here to contribute. After the Confluence Queens game, I needed fresh legs, and they gave their all."
Heartland Queens currently sit bottom of the Super Six table with a single point from three games.
They face Bayelsa Queens and Rivers Angels in their remaining fixtures.
