AFC Leopards head coach, Patrick Aussems believes that the ban imposed on club’s fans from attending football matches will not affect the outcome produced by his team on the pitch.

Speaking after his side blew a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with title-chasing KCB, Aussems stated that although fans are important to any club, they do not directly affect the outcome of the pitch.

“ Have you ever seen a fan scoring a goal?” the gaffer cheekily asked, “ Of course we need the support of the fans all the time but we knew that the fans were following on the radio, tv or even online,” he added.

“It is the players who are on the pitch( that bring home the reports) that matter. We had a good first half (even though they had a bad second half) but we are focused on the game in the cup next week.”

AFC Leopards will play against Bandari FC at Thika Stadium on Wednesday in the FKF Cup quarter final fixture.

Aussems will be hoping his side can brush aside the disappointments brought forth in the league campaign by doing well against the Antony “Modo” Kimani-coached outfit.
