Jinja Hippos pay the price for compalency as Heathens date Kobs in semis
Jinja Hippos will leave to regret their complacent performance against city rivals Walukuba in the group stages if they fail to defend their Nile Special Sevens title by a tight margin.
The hosts of the Stone City Sevens started well on Saturday by thumping Kyambogo 29-0, but that was their best result in the leg.
The holders then bumped on Walukuba, who stunned them 10-7 in the second Group A game before salvaging their pride by overcoming Plascon Mongers 12-7.
However, Walukuba’s perfect record in the group pushed Hippos to second on the table and threw them in Kobs’ path.
