Kamaru Usman to get revenge against Leon Edwards

Nigerian and American professional mixed martial artist Kamarudeen Usman has been tipped to regain the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title.

After dominating the welterweight division for two years Usman lost his title to British MMA star Leon Edwards.

In the final round, Edwards produced an incredible head kick to knock out Usman in front of a packed crow in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States back in August 2022.

Following the defeat, Usman was issued a warning by the doctors to stay away from the Octagon for a certain period.

The Nigerian Nightmare is now set to return for a rematch against Edwards in a trilogy fight

Usman defeated Edwards by decision in their first meeting but was knocked out in the second to set up a tantalizing third fight.

Ahead of the trilogy first several UFC stars have been giving their predictions on who would win between Edwards and Usman 

Eryk Anders an American contender in the middleweight division gave an assessment of the fight between the rivals.

He predicted that Usman would defeat Edwards as he was dominating the fight before the head kick.

Eryk said, “I think Usman will get him again. He was beating him for 24 minutes."

Jan Blachowicz a Former light heavyweight champion also picked Usman to be victorious against Edwards.

He added, “Kamaru Usman. You see the fight, of course, Edwards won, congratulations to him, but four and a half rounds Usman won. 

"Push him very hard, so I would put my money on Usman.”

“I think Leon Edwards is gonna take that one again. I think he is better than Usman,” Jack Maddalena said.

According to most betting sites, Usman is a slight favorite against Edwards as they finetune preparations for the big day.

Usman will take on Edwards at UFC 286 in London, United Kingdom scheduled for Sunday, March 19, 2023.
