KCCA Coach Sends Firm Warning to Kitara Ahead of FUFA Super 8 Clash

KCCA and Kitara are set to face off in the first semi-final of the FUFA Super 8 tournament on Monday night (7pm), with both teams aiming to secure a place in the championship match.

KCCA advanced to this stage by defeating BUL 4-2 on aggregate, securing 2-1 victories in both the home and away legs. Meanwhile, Kitara overcame Police with a 4-1 aggregate score, despite a 1-0 loss in the second leg.

This isn't the first time the two sides have met in this competition; Kitara previously knocked out the Kasasiro Boys. However, the Royals have yet to reach the final.

Adding a layer of intrigue, KCCA's current coach, Brian Ssenyondo, formerly managed Kitara. He expressed confidence in his team's ability to overcome his old club but acknowledged the challenge ahead and the significance of the tournament.

"We face a good opponent and we anticipate a difficult game, but as we showed against BUL, we are ready. The target is to win and get into the final," Ssenyondo stated.

"This competition is very important for us because it sets the tone for the season ahead, and we want to win it," he added. "There is being competitive, like we were last season, and then there is winning trophies. That is the main target this season—to bring trophies back to this club, because that is what it is known for."

New signing Ibrahim Kasule, who completed his move on Friday, could be available for selection, though it is uncertain if he will feature in the match. KCCA will likely rely on the in-form Charles Lwanga, who has scored two goals in two games, to lead the attack alongside Sammy Ssebaduka and Said Mayanja.

For Kitara, coach Wasswa Bbosa will turn to the experience of Patrick Kaddu and the skill of Kabon Living to spearhead their quest for goals. Defensively, they will need a disciplined performance to contain Lwanga and the rest of KCCA's potent attack.

In an earlier kickoff, BUL and Police will compete in the 5th/6th place playoff match.
