Kobs’ 50-01 bonus win over Walukuba on Saturday was met with thunderous applause and celebrations after learning that their Pirates had beaten Heathens in Kyadondo.

The Kobs had started a little slow partly because of the soggy pitch after a heavy early morning downpour but the news that Pirates was leading at Kyadondo provided just the motivation they needed to jumpstart their juggernaut.

Coach Brian Makalama made some adjustments that blew the hosts aside in the second half.

The win lifted Kobs to the top of the standings with 66 points, one above Pirates with three games remaining.

The coach was elated by the news from Kyadondo but understands that his job is even tougher now, keeping the fact that they face Pirates in their last game of the season.

But before then, they’ll have to deal with Buffaloes and Impis at Legends.

“It means that the league is not yet gone and ideally gives us another fighting chance to take our shot,” Makalama reacted to his team’s win and the results from Kyadondo.

“It won't be easy but we have to fight and win our next fixtures comfortably and keep the focus on our games and not what others are doing,” he added.
