Lamine Yamal treats himself to a diamond-encrusted necklace as birthday gift

The talented Barcelona forward recently celebrated his 18th birthday in style with a massive party.

The Spanish international, who is currently on a summer break, took the moment to give himself a big treat for his birthday.

According to reports from Sport, he gifted himself a lavish gold and diamond necklace reportedly worth around €400,000.

Lamine Yamal showcased a custom-made piece of jewellery in one of his Instagram stories. The pendant features his initials, and the chain is adorned with diamonds in Barcelona's club colours.

The necklace is certainly eye-catching. Due to its size and the sheer number of diamonds, fans on social media joked that it should have its own zip code.

While the price tag seems astronomical, it wasn't an issue for the young Spaniard, whose annual salary at the Catalan club is €30 million.

If he were to follow the unwritten rule of spending three months' salary on an engagement ring in the future, he'd be looking at a price tag of around €7.5 million.
