Carlo Ancelotti’s team traveled to the Canary Islands to face the test of Garcia Pimenta’s side, and while Las Palmas proved a difficult opposition, Los Merengues scaled through.

How it happened

The first 45 minutes of the encounter was an end-to-end affair, with the hosts refusing to cower, taking the game to their superior visitors. However, neither team made the net bulge in the first-half.

The hosts broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute of the game, when Sandro Ramirez found Javier Munoz.

Real Madrid thought they equalised minutes after thanks to a Carvajal strike, but the attempt was called back for offside.

The will not be denied in the 65th minute, however, with Vinicius finishing expertly past Alvaro Velles.

France international, Tchouameni, scored the winner in the 84th minute to hand Real Madrid consecutive comeback victories.
