Liverpool and Manchester City set to battle for Bellingham alternative

Manchester City will reportedly move for Liverpool's top target Ryan Gravenberch as Pep Guardiola looks to find an alternative after missing out on Jude Bellingham.

City boss Pep Guardiola wants to strengthen his options this summer and with Bellingham now poised to move to Spain and Ilkay Gundogan's contract set to expire this summer, a new midfielder is paramount.

According to Mirror Football, Gravenberch is on City's list of potential signings, although they will face competition from Liverpool if they do press ahead with a bid to land him. 

Gravenberch is highly rated despite enduring a difficult season in Munich following his switch from Ajax last summer.

Pulse Sports reported last month that Jurgen Klopp’s side have already made contact with the midfielder’s representatives over a potential summer move but it appears this could now be a long summer battle.
