Liverpool legend Carragher claims Man City have star who is better than Yaya Toure
Yaya Toure is undeniably one of Manchester City’s all-time greats. He arrived from Barcelona in the summer of 2010 and grew into one of the most dominant forces in Europe, and a remarkably complete player who was often underrated.
In a recent Goal interview, Jamie Carragher weighed in on a tough comparison between past and present Premier League stars.
The former Liverpool man was tasked with choosing between a prime Yaya Toure and Rodri.
After some thought, Carragher leaned toward Rodri. With Rodri becoming the first Premier League star to win the Ballon d'Or since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008, it’s clear why Carragher made the choice.
Both Toure and Rodri rank among the Premier League’s finest midfielders, making the decision a close call.
Toure’s 2013/14 season, where he scored 20 goals en route to a Premier League title, might be the best single campaign by any City midfielder.
Rodri, however, has put himself up there with some of the greats of this era and even the past, displaying a level of consistency and excellence that very few can match.
