The Colombian international is currently on holiday in his home country, where he was seen enjoying himself at a party.
Diogo Jota and his brother André tragically passed away overnight between Wednesday and Thursday. A memorial service was held on Friday, and a Liverpool delegation, including captain Virgil van Dijk, arrived around 10 p.m.
A large contingent from the English team attended both the memorial service and the funeral on Saturday morning.
Diaz slammed for missing Jota's funeral
According to reports by Sports, several videos from the same day show Luis Díaz socialising with influencers who create content for the Colombian national team.
The footage of the relaxed atmosphere further fueled criticism of his perceived lack of solidarity, especially given that Jota dedicated a goal to Díaz when his father was kidnapped.
The website Diario Deportes defended the 28-year-old forward: "Liverpool informed the players that if they couldn't attend the funeral, it wouldn't be a problem.
The journey from Barranquilla to Bogota and then to Lisbon, including transfers, takes almost 24 hours, even without complications," the journalists wrote, adding that the trip to Gondomar should also be factored in.
Just hours after the news of his teammate's death, Luis Díaz posted an emotional message on social media: "I'm speechless... It hurts. Not only because of what he achieved on the pitch but also because of the kind of person he was.
"Some gestures are unforgettable, and Diogo made one for me that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Sending a hug to Rute, their three children, and the whole family. Rest in peace, Diogo and André," the Colombian footballer wrote.
However, these words didn't convince some fans, who sharply criticised him under the post for not attending the funeral.
