Luis Enrique pays tribute to late Daughter with special T-shirt after leading PSG to historic UCL
The manager led Paris Saint-Germain to secure their first-ever Champions League title with a resounding 5-0 victory over Inter Milan in Munich on Saturday.
The French team achieved a historic milestone by securing the largest goal difference ever seen in this competition.
Their five-goal victory represents the most significant winning margin since the tournament's inception in 1956.
Enrique honours Xana
Enrique, who also led Barcelona to a Champions League title in 2015, donned a T-shirt featuring a photo of Xana planting a Barcelona flag on the pitch after that victory.
Xana tragically passed away in 2019 at the age of nine after battling bone cancer.
Before the final, Enrique spoke about Xana's enduring presence in his life. "I have incredible memories because my daughter loved parties, and I'm sure she's still throwing them wherever she is," he shared with reporters.
He recalled a cherished photo of Xana with him at the 2015 final and expressed his hope of recreating the moment with PSG. "My daughter won't be there physically, but she will be there spiritually, and that's very important to me," he stated.
As Enrique approached the PSG supporters wearing the tribute T-shirt, the ultras unveiled a massive tifo displaying the same image of Xana and her father, adapted to PSG colours.
Visibly moved, Enrique stood before the crowd, acknowledging the touching gesture, as reported by Goal.
This Champions League victory completes a treble for PSG, adding to their Ligue 1 and Coupe de France titles. It's Enrique's second treble as a manager, mirroring his success with Barcelona in 2015.
For Enrique, the night was a blend of triumph and remembrance, a testament to both his professional achievements and his enduring love for his daughter.
