Following the forward's unexpected injury, Manchester City have now confirmed that he will miss their next game.

The statement confirms, as reported by Sportal, that the Citizens' forward sustained a knee injury during Egypt's national team match against Burkina Faso.

Initial scan results, conducted in the player's home country, indicate that the 26-year-old will be unavailable for Sunday's Manchester derby.

City further clarified that Marmoush will return to Manchester for additional examinations and to commence his rehabilitation.
