Manchester City keen on Barcelona reject to solve problem position
Marc-André ter Stegen’s future at Barcelona is uncertain following the signing of Joan Garcia from Espanyol. The German goalkeeper is determined to compete for his spot, but reports suggest Barcelona would prefer he leaves this summer.
Manchester City are reportedly interested, especially after reports emerged that Galatasaray are closing in on goalkeeper Ederson.
Joan Garcia, whom Barca signed from Espanyol, is nine years younger than Ter Stegen. He is already part of the Spanish national team squad and is expected to play for them in the future.
Ter Stegen has been linked with Galatasaray, but German legend Lothar Matthäus believes Manchester City could be a strong fit.
“Galatasaray Istanbul would be one of several options. Galatasaray has underlined its ambitions by signing Sané and will play in the Champions League next season,” he added.
“Six English clubs will be playing there next season, and none of them have a goalkeeper strong enough to say, ‘Ter Stegen wouldn’t be a reinforcement for us.’ I don’t know what Manchester City’s plans are, but I think they’re not too happy with Ederson."
