Manchester City star snubbed as Premier League reveal nominees for Player of the Season

Liverpool trio Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Ryan Gravenberch have been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season award, alongside five other players.

Salah is the frontrunner with 28 goals and 18 assists, just one goal or assist away from matching the all-time record for most goal involvements in a single campaign.

The nominees also include Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood, Newcastle United's Alexander Isak, Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo, and Arsenal's Declan Rice.

Notably, Manchester City's Erling Haaland was snubbed for the award despite sitting third in the scoring charts.

Manchester City produced last year's winner in Phil Foden, but the dethroned champions had an abysmal season, failing to produce any nominees for the first time in six seasons.

The winner will be determined by public vote and an expert panel, with the announcement set to be made before the final game of the season
