Manchester United handed major transfer boost as Real Madrid pick 33-year-old over Kane, Mbappe
LaLiga giants Real Madrid are reportedly not pursuing a move for Harry Kane or Kylian Mbappe this summer, preferring to wait for 2024 when both players would be at the end of their contracts.
Real Madrid not signing Kane or Mbappe this summer
Carlo Ancelotti's men have lost Karim Benzema to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad and have been heavily linked to a host of attacking replacements including Tottenham forward Harry Kane, Chelsea striker Kai Havertz and PSG's Kylian Mbappe.
However, according to Spanish outlet Cope, Real will wait till next summer to make a big move and instead sign Espanyol striker Joselu.
Joselu, 33, scored 16 goals for Espanyol last season and is on the verge of completing a dream move to the Bernabeu.
Boost for Manchester United
This could open the door for Manchester United to have a clean run at Harry Kane, although it is believed Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has a preference to sell the England captain overseas.
United boss Erik ten Hag has been vocal about the club's need to strengthen at centre-forward and Kane is the best on the market.
The Red Devils have also been linked to Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos.
