Manchester United making plans to replace Onana with Espanyol goalkeeper Garcia

The Cameroonian has come under criticism for his performance since joining the Red Devils last season.

Despite another error-filled season, United's first-choice goalkeeper is determined to remain at the club and compete for his position under the new manager, Ruben Amorim.

Amid interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, Manchester United might consider selling Andre Onana in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Manchester United are reportedly considering Espanyol goalkeeper Garcia, 23, as a potential successor to Onana. 

The Sun suggests United have "made an approach" to "tempt" Garcia to Old Trafford prior to submitting a formal bid.

Garcia reportedly has a £21 million release clause, which will increase to £25 million later in the summer transfer window.

Throughout this campaign, Garcia has consistently impressed, securing seven clean sheets in 32 appearances. 

His outstanding performances have earned him La Liga Save of the Month awards. He delivered a man-of-the-match performance in February when they stunned Real Madrid with a 1-0 victory.

Arsenal and the reigning Champions League club Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring the goalkeeper situation at Espanyol.
