How it happened

Getafe began strongly and took the lead when Damián Suárez sent in a teasing corner that was powered in by Stefan Mitrović.

Osasuna equalised just before the break through a corner of their own as captain David García headed down for Aimar Oroz, who kneed the ball up for Iker Muñoz to thump home on the volley.

Getafe regained the advantage on 51 minutes. Diego Rico found himself in space on the left and pinged the perfect cross which landed on the head of José Ángel Carmona.

The visitors responded almost immediately as Juan Cruz’s throw-in was cleverly flicked forward into the box by Ávila, causing Soria to hesitate and then bring down Ante Budimir. The Croatia international duly stepped up and finished coolly, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to level proceedings.

His shot was blocked by Cruz, allowing Nemanja Maksimović to guide in substitute Carles Aleñá’s pinpoint delivery.
