According to the Sun, the statement read, "On behalf of our entire family, along with Savy, we have been so moved by the love and support from Angel City players, staff, fans and community, as well as soccer fans across the country.

"We are blessed to share that Savy is recovering well and we are looking forward to having her home with us soon."

Following King's collapse during the game, several football figures voiced their concerns about the decision to proceed with the match.

Angel City secured a 2-0 victory over their opponents. Christen Press and Alyssa Thompson each scored a goal for the home team, sealing the win with a courageous effort.
