Naija Stars Abroad enjoyed the best weekend so far in the new season thanks to Super Eagles and Nigerian superstars led by Victor Boniface, Ademola Lookman, and Victor Osimhen.

In what could be described as a goal-fest and assists-fest, it rained goal contributions across the world for Nigerians.

The 23-year-old got things off to the perfect start when he led Bayer Leverkusen back to winning ways in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.

Boniface put behind him the disappointing outing with the Super Eagles in the AFCON 2025Q to inspire Leverkusen’s 4-1 demolition of Hoffenheim.

The striker was involved in three of the goals, scoring two and assisting a third in man of the match display.

Following the German-based superstar was Lookman who featured for the first time for Atalanta this season after his transfer saga in the summer.

Unlike Boniface, Lookman enjoyed the AFCON 2025Q and transferred that form to his club where he scored one and provided one of the assists of the season so far in a come from behind 3-2 win against Fiorentina.

Not to be outdone by his compatriot, Osimhen also announced his arrival in Turkey in style as he provided an assist in Galatasaray’s comprehensive 5-0 defeat of Olawoyin Ibrahim’s Rizespor.

The Premier League saw the birth of a new playmaker as Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi reinvented himself as a number 10 for Leicester City.

While the Foxes managed a 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park, Ndidi was responsible for two of their goals as he provided both assists.

In a complete display of creative prowess, the 27-year-old created the most chances (4) in the game, two key passes and also created three big chances.

It was a quiet weekend, however for Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey after Fulham’s 1-1 draw at home to West Ham United while Ola Aina had a perfect outing against Liverpool at Anfield.

Aina delivered a masterclass, a 10/10 outing to help Nottingham Forest to a clean sheet and a shock 1-0 win against Arne Slot’s Red.

In Belgium, it was the Nigerian show again as little-known Collins Sor and Toluwase Arokodare stole the show.

Collins Sor was in fine form for Genk.

24-year-old Sor inspired Genk to a 3-2 win at Cercle Brugge scoring one and assisting two goals.

One of the assists was for fellow Nigerian, Tolu, the giant, who has now scored five goals in just six appearances.

Other Eagles stars who shone

Moses Simon picked up an assist but it was not enough for Nantes in Ligue 1 while Frank Onyeka announced his arrival in the Bundesliga with a fantastic assist for Augsburg.

Cyriel Dessers also got an assist, with Josh Maja continuing his away blues for West Bromwich Albion after another goal for the Baggies.

Finally, Tom Dele Bashiru netted his first goal of the season as Watford shared the spoils with Coventry in the Championship.
