Ademola Lookman’s exit from Atalanta is all but certain, but hopes of a dream Premier League return, particularly to Arsenal, might be far fetched.

Despite speculation, a top transfer insider insists the Gunners have other priorities, despite rumours linking the Super Eagles star to the Gunners

Arsenal reportedly not keen on Lookman

Transfer market expert Matteo Moretto recently addressed the swirling rumours linking Lookman to Arsenal.

Lookman scored 15 goals in the Serie A and 5 in the UCL this season.

Speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Moretto said, "Lookman will leave Atalanta 99.9%," confirming the Nigerian forward's imminent departure. But when it comes to Arsenal, things are far less promising.

"He was offered to Arsenal, but I don’t think he is the first or even the second choice for them," Moretto stated bluntly.

According to Moretto, the reason is the Super Eagles star’s age and profile. Arsenal are sticking to a very specific recruitment strategy, usually favouring younger, more versatile prospects with long-term resale value.

At 26, Lookman sits slightly outside that bracket. His characteristics, though exciting, may not align with Mikel Arteta’s tactical preferences.

Napoli and Juventus lead the race for Atalanta star

Although a return to England might capture headlines, Lookman is still eager for a move from Atalanta, with clubs within Italy now his most likely option.

Moretto revealed that Juventus and Napoli are the clubs most actively pursuing Lookman after the Nigerian star impressed in recent Serie A seasons.

Napoli, see the winger as an ideal reinforcement amid Victor Osimhen exit rumours and further squad restructuring.

Juventus are also looking to refresh their attack with proven Serie A talent, so with both Italian giants circling, it is unlikely that the Premier League will get to see the Lookman show again.
