Not Wizkid or Davido — Achraf Hakimi names Afrobeats giant as his 'most stylish' musician

Achraf Hakimi may be one of the sleekest wingbacks in world football, but when it comes to style inspiration, his preferences are beyond the usual chart-toppers. 

In a recent interview with Footballer Fits behind the scenes of his shoot with sportswear giants Under Armour, the 26-year-old Moroccan star made it crystal clear who tops his fashion charts.

“Rapper or singer that I like? Burna Boy. I think I like his style. I like [him] a lot. Or Bad Bunny. Bad Bunny also, you know his style is really cool,” Hakimi revealed.

Burna Boy is notorious for his flamboyant wardrobe, bold prints, diamond jewellries, and edgy footwear always turning heads on and off stage. 

Hakimi's sartorial nod to Burna Boy came as part of his unveiling as the newest face of Under Armour in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region. 

The American sportswear behemoth has roped in PSG’s superstar right-back as their newest brand ambassador.

Kevin Ross, Managing Director for Under Armour EMEA, said in an official statement, “Achraf puts a major stake in the ground for Under Armour in football. It demonstrates our commitment and unwavering focus to grow our football business through world class athletes.”

Speaking on the new deal, Hakimi said, “I am thrilled to join Under Armour, a brand whose values and product quality resonate with me. I look forward to contributing to its expansion in football and sportswear in France, Morocco, and beyond.”

 To seal the partnership in true streetwear style, Under Armour rolled out a futuristic commercial film starring Hakimi, blending his shadow with the brand’s insignia.
