Ogenyi Onazi: Super Eagles midfielder devastated after truck driver without license kills brother's wife
Nigeria and Super Eagles star Ogenyi Onazi has been left devastated after a tragic road accident claimed the life of his brother's wife.
The Super Eagles midfielder took to Instagram to share a harrowing account of the incident, which occurred at around 4 pm earlier in the week.

Onazi revealed that his elder brother was driving with his wife when their car violently crashed into by a truck loaded with fertiliser that had lost control.
The truck driver, who Onazi says did not have a proper driving license, fled the scene immediately after the collision.
Onazi's sister-in-law was killed instantly, while his brother managed to survive the impact but suffered multiple dislocated joints.
The 31-year-old former Lazio star expressed his heartbreak and confusion over the tragedy with a message on Instagram.
“This is a message to the federal government of Nigeria.. and the federal @frscnigeria,' Onazi wrote.
“On Tuesday 18th at about 4 pm my elder brother @onazithmps was driving with his wife to visit someone, on the traffic then came this truck loaded with fertilizer without control to crash more than 10 cars killed my brother's wife instantly and my brother managed to survival with several dislocated joint arranged for surgery, with other people dead.”
Onazi went on to criticise the lack of driving safety and regulation in Nigeria, where he says many people are operating vehicles without the proper training or licenses.
“Driving in Nigeria you will know that a lot of people driving on the road don't have proper driving knowledge. Lately, trucks and tank drivers have been killing a lot of people because of reckless driving,” he lamented.
The midfielder, who has won over 50 caps for the Nigerian national team, expressed his devastation at the tragic loss of his sister-in-law.
“'I am really sad 😢 and confused.. Ann Onazi rest well,” he concluded.
Onazi's heartbreaking post has sparked an outpouring of support and condolences from fans and fellow footballers led by his former teammates in the Super Eagles.
The incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangerous conditions on Nigeria's roads, where a lack of regulation and enforcement puts innocent lives at risk every day.
