Ola Aina to return to Nottingham Forest after an injury, set to miss Rwanda clash
The Super Eagles defender was in action for Nigeria during their 1-1 draw against Benin Republic on Thursday.
On the right flank, the agile defender displayed his amazing skills, which greatly aided the team's efforts.
Aina helped the Super Eagles qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco.
Aina’s injury
According to reports, Aina will miss the Super Eagles clash against Rwanda in Uyo on Monday due to an injury he sustained against Benin.
The Chelsea academy graduate was replaced by Bright Osayi-Samuel of Fenerbahçe shortly after Victor Osimhen scored in the equaliser.
He received a knock during a game at Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, which prompted the national team's physiotherapists to tend to him.
Aina has now gone back to England for a comprehensive medical evaluation due to worries regarding his fitness.
His condition is being monitored ahead of Nottingham Forest's pivotal Premier League matchup against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The 28-year-old has appeared in all eleven of Nottingham Forest's Premier League games this season, making him one of the first names on Nuno EspÃrito Santo's team sheet.
