Ondeko upbeat about Batball's impact on players ahead of the second edition

The Batball cricket tournament is back again in its second edition,aiming at giving as many young cricket players a chance to showcase their talent.

Batball's chief operating officer Martin Ondeko states that providing a bigger platform for the young players remains their objective.

"Last season, we're able to expose at least 300 players to quality cricket, so the next edition will certainly be more competitive, giving players a chance to showcase more skills,” Ondeko told Pulse Sports.

The former Uganda Cricket Association CEO added: "We have invited a select team from Rwanda which will be part of the tournament with an overall aim of making the whole event more exciting.”

The Batball X tournament will attract six participating teams, five representing different regions in Uganda, and a Rwanda select team running from August 15th to 20th at Lugogo Cricket Oval and Jinja SS.

The Nile, North, Central, East and West are the regions set to be represented in the tournament.

The tourney played in a 10-over format, will see the East, North and Nile regions face off in Pool A with their games set to be played at Jinja SS, while Rwanda select, Central and West will face off in Group B at the Lugogo Cricket oval.
