Victor Osimhen has been left out of ESPN’s top forwards for the 2024-25 season.
Despite the on-loan Galatasaray forward scoring 26 league goals in 30 appearances and 37 times in 41 in all competitions, the Nigerian was excluded.
Osimhen, 26, won the double in Turkey in the concluded season, ending top scorer in the Super Lig season and notching five goals en route to the domestic cup success.
However, the Nigerian’s numbers did not move the needle in ESPN’s ranking.
Who made the cut at Osimhen’s expense?
Kylian Mbappe tops ESPN’s list, with the Frenchman showcasing his extraordinary pace and skill with a record-breaking 43 goals in his debut season at Real Madrid.
Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona) comes in second, proving age is just a number as he scored 40 goals at 36, leading his team to a domestic treble.
Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) ranks third, having continued his prolific scoring with 38 goals, finally claiming his first trophy for club or country.
In fourth place, Erling Haaland (Manchester City) remains a scoring machine, netting 30 goals despite his team struggling.
Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan) follows in fifth, showing consistency with a standout performance, including nine goals in the Champions League, even if the season ended in disappointment with losing their Scudetto title and losing heavily in the final.
Alexander Isak (Newcastle United) is sixth, earning recognition for his lethal scoring and vital contributions to his club's success.
Seventh is Julian Alvarez (Atletico Madrid), who impressed in his first season with 29 goals, promising a bright future as Griezmann's successor.
Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting Lisbon) ranks eighth, making his mark with 54 goals, reflecting a remarkable rise after his previous Championship stint.
Serhou Guirassy (Borussia Dortmund) comes in ninth with a record-breaking 21 goals in his first Bundesliga season.
Finally, versatile veteran Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid) was ranked 10th. He remains a game changer despite being 34 and contributes significantly to his team’s efforts in the Champions League.

What’s next for Osimhen?
It should be a big summer for Osimhen, who is expected to leave Napoli.
The Nigerian has recently been linked with a transfer to Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal, further continuing the rumours surrounding the world-class striker.
