Manchester United's offer includes a guaranteed €75 million payment and €10 million in future add-ons.

They are now awaiting a response from Leipzig but are confident the valuation suits the 22-year-old Slovenian international, who is reportedly eager to join the club at Old Trafford.

Newcastle have also made an offer for Sesko, which Leipzig rejected. United’s bid is notable, as there were indications the club would not pursue Sesko without confirmation of his willingness to move.

To accommodate Sesko, United are prepared to let Rasmus Hojlund depart, with interest from several clubs developing.

Sesko, who has scored 39 goals in 87 appearances for Leipzig, would add a commanding physical presence to United’s attack and form a deadly trio with fellow summer arrivals Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.

Despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s earlier warnings about potential financial difficulties, reports suggest the club can afford the deal.

Newcastle have suffered several setbacks in this summer's transfer window and will be keen to avoid another rejection, especially as Liverpool continue to circle for star man Alexander Isak.
