The 58-year-old was unveiled on Thursday as the latest brand ambassador of the Nedbank Cup, South Africa’s premier knockout soccer tournament.

‘Jingles’, who joined other ambassadors like Teko Modise, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Daine Klate and Stanton Fredricks, stressed that players must invest their earnings.

“I think we have true ambassadors who have travelled, been around the football space, and have done very well with their finances,” Mosimane said.

“Because I have been their coach. The only one I didn’t coach was Stigga – Stanton Fredericks, but all of them I have been their coach, and when I see where they are now, that’s more important.”

Pitso mentioned examples of former players Daine Klate and Teko Modise, who he encouraged to invest in real estate during their playing days.

“As I always say, ‘you first coach the human being before the footballer’. It reminded me of when I fought with Daine Klate and Teko Modise,” he stressed.

“I always told them ‘, you’re not going to sleep in a car; you’ve got to buy the house first.”

Mosimane won the Nedbank Cup thrice, twice at Mamelodi Sundowns, where he also won five league titles, the CAF Champions League, amongst others, alongside Ex Cranes captain Dennis Onyango.

Mosimane also had a successful two-year spell with Egyptian giants Al Ahly winning two CAF Champions League titles.
