‘Players in our league should not be promoted’ - Turkish pundit explains why Osimhen should not be hyped

Osimhen has gained the love of Galatasaray fans since joining the Turkish outfit on loan last summer.

He has led the team to their first trophy this season, winning the Turkish Cup and also edging them closer to winning the league title.

The Super Eagles star’s performance has not gone unnoticed, with top clubs in Europe vying to sign him this summer.

Üründül believes the striker's Turkish Süper Lig performances might not truly indicate how well he would perform in more competitive European leagues.

As quoted by habersarikirmizi.com, Üründül said, "Some players in our league should not be promoted too much. Victor Osimhen should go, they would hardly move in England or Italy.  

"Turkish teams have very weak defence. They score goals with ease. European teams know how to defend very well.”

Urundul's comments suggest doubt regarding the forward's ability to sustain his current performance levels against tougher competition, such as in the Premier League or upon a potential return to Serie A.

Osimhen's reputation has fueled significant discussion within Turkish football following the recent comments.

The Nigerian international achieved significant success with Napoli in Italy's Serie A, clinching the Golden Boot and playing a key role in the club's Scudetto victory.

Osimhen has had an exceptional season for Galatasaray, scoring 33 goals and providing 8 assists in 37 appearances. 

This performance of 33 goals marks a new personal best for him in a single season, exceeding his previous record.
