After securing their first major trophy in 70 years, Newcastle seem to have had that spring to push them to Champions League qualification. They are on a four-match winning streak across all competitions and sit fifth, tied on points with fourth-placed Chelsea while having a game in hand.

For United, it has been a poor season, with Ruben Amorim realising that the problem could be deeper than initially thought. The Europa League dream remains after their 2-2 draw away at Lyon in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.

However, mistakes such as those committed by Andre Onana in the game could yet see the Red Devils fall short.

United held local rivals Manchester City to a goalless draw in their last Premier League match, but it was the second straight league game that they failed to win.
