Priscilla Abby upbeat about the Gazelles’ performance at Afrobasket

Gazelles forward Abby Priscilla has revealed that the group games at the AfroBasket championship will be competitive as Uganda look to make an impact at the continental Women’s basketball showpiece

“ The Afro basket is a major competition and it will be a very tricky group as we are playing against very tough opponents,” Abby told FUBA media.

“We are not going there just to participate but to compete and they will be very competitive and with God we will win it all,” she added.

The Grayson College forward also added that her time in the United States has helped her become a better player which will help the Gazelles at the competition.

“Playing in the United States has helped me become a better player because I have learnt more of the basics as I was primarily a shooter and driver before.”

The Gazelles who are set to make a third appearance at the tournament are currently camping at the Africa Bible University in Lubowa until July 15th when the final 12 will be announced.

The final squad will enter residential camp for two weeks before flying out to Kigali, Rwanda for the tournament.

The Afro basket tournament will run from July 28 to August 6th with the Gazelles drawn in group C alongside Mali and record champions Senegal.
