PSG open talks with Salah over free transfer
Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly initiated contact with Mohamed Salah's camp in a bid to snap him up immediately he becomes available as a free agent.
The 32-year-old has had a blistering start to the season, leading Liverpool to nine points clear at the top of the Premier League standings. Hence, there was a shock when Salah, whose contract expires at the end of the season, told reporters that he had yet to receive any offer for a renewal from Liverpool.
Paris Saint-Germain lying in wait
The Ligue 1 giants, who had an unsuccessful summer transfer window in trying to sign Kylian Mbappe's replacement, are reportedly attentive to Salah's situation.
According to a report from L’Equipe, PSG’s president Nasser Al Khelaifi has a cordial relationship with the Egypt international and is leveraging that to discuss a possible transfer.
It remains to be seen if Liverpool will hand Salah a new deal, but should the Reds make an adequate proposal, it is understood that the former Basel man would prefer to remain at the club than leave.
However, PSG are saying the reports are untrue, tagging it as an effort from the player's camp to apply pressure on the Liverpool leadership.
