The Lusail weekend was his first of the season, having missed the opening three rounds due to injuries picked up during pre-season testing.

Last week, Martin returned to a MotoGP machine during a private test at the Misano circuit, as reported by Sportal.

He completed 64 laps on the Aprilia RS-GP, and before the test concluded, it was announced that the Spaniard planned to return to racing at the Czech Grand Prix.

To do so, however, he needed clearance from Dr. Angel Charte's team, which, as expected, Martin received without any conditions for further examinations on Friday.

This means we will see the #1 rider on track for only the second time this season. However, even after this weekend, he may mathematically lose any chance of defending his title, a feat that already seemed improbable.
