Report: Atletico Madrid close to signing Memphis Depay from Barcelona
Atletico Madrid are reportedly close to completing the acquisition of Memphis Depay from Barcelona.
Reports of a possible move intensified over the past few weeks, with the player said to be pushing for the move.
Barcelona were confirmed to be in negotiations with Atletico by Yannick Carrasco's agent, Pini Zahavi, as Barcelona wanted a swap deal, Carrasco for Depay, or a transfer fee of up to €7 million.
Atletico Madrid were not interested in a swap deal, and they have reportedly reached an agreement on a transfer fee with Barcelona.
Depay to Atletico Madrid
Reports have surfaced over the last hour that Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Barcelona for Memphis Depay, on a transfer fee of around €3 million, with bonuses that could take it to an excess of €4 million.

Memphis Depay's current deal with Barcelona expires in the summer, and the club risks losing him on a free transfer. Atletico were said to be the players' preferred destination, and they were willing to hold out, waiting till the summer to get their man on a free.
Barcelona's initial ask was around €7 million, and according to reports, they have accepted a lower price.

Memphis Depay missed Barcelona's preparatory training today, ahead of their Copa del Rey clash against Ceuta.
Reports from AS suggest that the Dutch attacker did it in protest, thereby forcing Barcelona's hand to sell him to Atletico.
Barcelona's manager, Xavi, was asked in a press conference today, and he revealed that he would discuss with the player to know if he wanted to leave.
