Report: Nottingham Forest begin contract negotiation with Super Eagles star Ola Aina

Aina has had an incredible start to the season for Forest, having helped his side keep eight clean sheets in the Premier League.

The Nigerian international has also scored two goals in important moments this season to crown his impressive start.

Despite his performance this season, the defender is yet to renew his contract, which is set to expire at the end of the season.

Nottingham Forest have begun negotiations with Aina’s representative as they look to reward his form.

According to Sky Sports, “Nottingham Forest are in talks with Ola Aina’s representatives over a new contract. Aina’s current deal is up in the summer 🚨”

Forest are keen to hold on to their star player and tie him down on a new contract to wade off competitors.

However, there has been no agreement yet by both parties, but positive news on the contract negotiation is expected.

Manchester City are also monitoring the player's situation and have declared interest in the Super Eagles star as Pep Guardiola looks to shore up his defence.

Meanwhile, Aina was not nominated for the Player and Goal of the Month award following his impressive performance in December.
